Digital Photo Series, 2016
“What if all we have left is a sea of plastic”?
polyvynil chloride is a photographic series exploring themes of toxicity, mutation and adaptation in our natural environment, specifically in relation to environmental pollution and global warming. For this series I began experimenting with different plastics in an attempt to re-create organic, “natural” landscapes and environments of beauty using only artificial materials. The photographs reveal an unnatural ecosystem, that fluctuates ambiguously in scale between micro and macro and blurs the lines between real and digital.
